PenPoints of Light

Welcome

Come in and make yourself comfortable! So glad you dropped by my home here online.

You think it’s beautiful? Well, thank you. I agree. You see, beauty is essential in my life, and I believe I have figured out why. Life can be ugly. I grew up in a culture of silence about the bad. The good and happy things—and there are many—were fine to remember and express, but not the ugly. To survive, I suppressed the bad and tried to replace it with the beautiful. Beauty in my outer world became my life-line even it was just a vase of road-side daisies on a paint-chipped table. The painful, inner secrets, however, were never to be exposed. There were no real tools for healing. Nothing was provided to go deep enough to mend my heart. My truth should never be told. But God. God has a way, through Jesus, the Word, of shining His light of love on the darkest, most secret rooms in my house. As my Creator, He longs for me to own my truth and give me identity. First, I had to trust enough to let light in. He knew I had plenty of misconceptions about what kind of character He is, but, like a true lover, He wooed with patience and respect. He still does. He wants me to break the silence. Now, without shame, I share stories about how, out of the ugly, His love creates inner beauty. My passion is that you, my dear reader, may find in these stories of God’s love and healing, a light that will shine for you.
